Do your users need to install specific software for this application?

This question is important because if special software is needed this may act as an obstacle to people participating. In many institutions computer users are not permitted to install their own software. If you think your users may need to install software you need to give them advice about where to obtain it and allow time for installation. Note that many applications may run in a web browser but still need software plug-ins before they will work.
