Preparation of the material

To extend the life of the equipment, it is advisable to protect it from humidity with waterproof material -for example, a simple transparent plastic bag. This is especially important when taking measurements in the slaughterhouse. If possible, use an electrode such as a Xerolyt or similar, because they are very resistant and the interior solution is not necessary. It is important not to forget to take a spare electrode. At every session it is essential to check that the electrode membrane is clean because if not it will blacken and the electrode will then have to be submerged in a cleaning solution. If there is no equipment with automatic temperature compensation it will be necessary to use a portable thermometer.
